Andina

For the first time, vicuña fabrics and the NFT world together in the same project: Andina

In the quest to empower Catamarca's weavers and their work, we have created Andina a project with an Argentine heart and a vision for the future. Together with my partner and friend Florencia BovoI tried to unite two different universes and tell ancestral stories through technology and take them to unimagined places; the weaving of vicuña wool from Catamarca and the metaverse together for the first time.

In 2022 we launched the project with more than 400 press guests at the Faena Art Center, Buenos Aires . " I like being able to exalt my birthplace, Catamarca through a venture that adds women, art, design and technology: the first Andina collection on the blockchain . And in March 2023 we landed in Paris as part of Paris Fashion Week. We were received by the Argentine Ambassador to France and then we celebrated our alliance with the French-Argentine accessible luxury brand Àcheval, through the AndinaxÀcheval collaboration, which allowed us to enter such a challenging market as Europe and that our vicuña ponchos along with their digital art piece are available at www.achevalpampa.com and the main luxury stores in France.

The weavers of the Puna Catamarqueña work at more than 4,000 meters above sea level and without recognition, financing or access to technology.

The community of Laguna Blanca - Belén - Catamarca, is currently a space of containment and a supported network for more than 400 women weavers. Throughout a manual process that takes between 6 and 12 months of production, vicuña weavings are born. A soft wool, of the highest quality and highly valued around the world.

Through 3.0 technology, each piece contains information about the weaver who worked on it. The ponchos come with a chip that, when read by the cell phone, accesses an audiovisual capsule hosted in the blockchain where, in first person, each author tells her story of overcoming, resilience and what the art of weaving means to her. In this way, not only a unique garment is acquired, but also "a story". In addition, you get a traceability certificate with information about the raw material, issued by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability of Catamarca. The Mujeres Creando Collection is available at the marketplace CARNAVAL ART marketplace and can be purchased from all over the world.

It challenges me to link technology, a new and disinterested generation with the indigenous, and mix it with something as Argentinean as a poncho. To find a different way of telling stories through a project made by women to empower women. And at the same time, revalue the role of women in the technological world, hegemonized by men.
